Growing up, I watched my parents' businesses thrive and falter. They didnât grow up with any formal education, yet they managed to carve out a place for themselves in our ever-changing world. When one venture failed, they pivotedâagain and againâto meet the needs of the industry. To this day, they work tirelessly, coming home late but always with a sense of fulfillment.
Reflecting on their journey, I realized something profound: the freedom and spirit of entrepreneurshipâthe ownership of your highs and lowsâis deeply personal. Itâs not just about work; itâs about building something truly your own. That's a freedom I crave. I donât want to spend my life in a 9-to-5, bound by rigid schedules and doing things I might not enjoy. I want the liberty to snowboard in the mountains whenever I choose, not just during my annual two weeks winter vacation.
Sam Altman captured this sentiment perfectly: "The home run theory of careers: What matters is eventually hitting a home run, and the way to do that is training hard and taking a lot of at-bats. You only have to be right once, and itâs okay to be wrong a lot of times. Be bold, move fast, work hard. Ignore haters, keep swinging."
So here I am, swinging my batânot just for the thrill of it, but for the dream of building a life where work fuels freedom, and freedom fuels fulfillment. I'm Kong, and this is my journey.

As someone whoâs worked in both SMEs and big tech, Iâve had the privilege of building solutions from scratch, collaborating with amazing professionals, and witnessing firsthand how technology can transform businesses. Over the past two years, Iâve specialized in generative AI, spearheading and being part of projects that ACTUALLY save time, cut costs, and reduce effort for internal teams and external customers alike.
As a builder, Iâve seen how these solutions make a difference. Some solutions act as vitaminsâenhancing workflows and fixing inefficienciesâwhile others are painkillers, eliminating deep-rooted pain points.
Breaking The Mould
What stands out to me is this: while tech-enabled companies are quick to adopt AI, industries like construction, legal, and engineering remain tethered to manual workflows and repetitive tasks. These sectors are brimming with untapped potentialâripe for innovation, with processes waiting to be automated and challenges ready for solutions. With my technical expertise and hands-on experience, I feel like it's time to venture into these untapped spaces and make a meaningful impact (while also earning a side income to fund my winter sport addictionđđ).
